Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Datacenter Inventory Specialist to join our team at Microsoft. As a Datacenter Inventory Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our inventory management processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with suppliers to initiate warranty claims and process failed vendor hardware devices, ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) procedures.
  • Develop a working knowledge of stock control and inventory management practices, including data corrections and cycle audits to ensure all inventory controls are met.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of incoming and outgoing deliveries, as well as records of inventory movements.
  • Under the supervision of more experienced Data Center colleagues, participate in the destruction of data-bearing devices (DBD) following all SLAs and Microsoft policies.
  • Comply with all security and data management policies, embodying Microsoft's values of respect, integrity, and accountability.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma and 6 months of experience in inventory management, retail, warehouse management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check and Reliability Status screening.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience in warehouse/supply chain in an information technology (IT) environment, IT, and/or logistics, operating heavy-load movement equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jacks, chassis lifts) for a large corporation, or equivalent experience.
