Accounting Manager Role

The Accounting Manager will work closely with the Head Office Finance team, the General Manager of the dealership, and directly with the dealership to manage day-to-day financial operations. Key responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate accounting ledgers by reviewing and posting transactions
  • Develop a clear understanding of all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, deal postings, and payroll
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, including financial statements and balance sheets
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide insightful reporting
  • Develop and manage annual budgets
  • Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and processes
  • Train, develop, and manage the accounting team in all accounting functions
  • Collaborate with Department Managers to achieve business objectives
  • Provide regular reporting to Corporate Head Office
  • Some travel may be required
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in business, commerce, or accounting, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in an automotive dealership setting
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Excel
  • Experience with HRIS is considered an asset but not required
  • Proven experience in managing or supervising a team
