**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Advisor to join our team at Peace Hills Insurance. As a Claims Advisor, you will play a critical role in investigating, evaluating, and settling claims arising under our policies.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Verify coverage and entitlement to benefits for reported claims
- Obtain and review recorded statements from claimants
- Determine liability and explain the claims process to insureds and claimants
- Calculate and issue payments on a timely basis
- Negotiate total loss settlements and dispose of salvage
- Identify and investigate questionable claims
- Liaise with brokers, underwriters, and other industry professionals
- Arrange repairs and rentals for damaged properties
- Perform other duties as required to support the claims process
**Requirements:**
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field (e.g. insurance, business, or a related field)
- Minimum of 2 years experience in claims handling or a related field
