We are seeking a dedicated full-time, permanent Property Claims Specialist to join our team. This role involves evaluating, negotiating, and resolving claims associated with personal lines, farm, and commercial insurance policies. The successful candidate will manage claims across various regions, ensuring a comprehensive approach to each case.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly with policyholders to guide them through the claims process, ensuring equitable and just settlements.
  • Assess all available information to verify that coverage is applicable to the reported claim.
  • Clearly communicate coverage details and the claims process to both insured individuals and claimants.
  • Identify potential recovery opportunities, including subrogation and salvage options.
  • Gather and analyze documentation and relevant information to aid in the assessment and quantification of claims.
  • Establish, evaluate, and manage appropriate reserves based on anticipated final payouts.
  • Provide oversight and direction to independent adjusters and legal representatives.
  • Coordinate the engagement of external resources as necessary.
  • Monitor and manage costs associated with external resources effectively.
  • Review and adjust claims in alignment with our customer service standards.
  • Maintain clear communication, both verbally and in writing, within and outside the organization.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date file diaries and abeyances.
  • Detect potentially fraudulent claims and collaborate with the Special Investigations Unit as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • CIP/FCIP designation is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in property claims is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of property insurance policies and their specific wordings.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey messages with professionalism and tact.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective time management abilities.
  • Capacity to make informed decisions that align with the company's claims handling philosophy.
