We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Social Worker to join our team at The Royal Mental Health Centre. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide professional social work services and interventions to clients with severe and persistent mental illness.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Professional Social Work Services: Develop and implement creative treatment, recovery, and therapy plans, and support services and programs responsive to clients' needs.
- Engage in Client-Centered Care: Engage clients, families, and caregivers in clinical interventions and risk reduction strategies with the interdisciplinary team.
- Advocate on Behalf of Clients: Advocate on behalf of clients, families, and caregivers for appropriate services and resources.
- Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Team: Collaborate, consult, and liaise with the interdisciplinary team and community service providers.
- Provide Timely and Comprehensive Reports: Provide timely and comprehensive written assessments, treatment, and discharge reports.
- Participate in Education and Supervision: Participate in the teaching, education, and supervision of Social Work students.
- Maintain Appropriate Documentation: Maintain appropriate documentation and data collection, in accordance with hospital, college, and legislative standards.
- Participate in Education and Presentations: Participate in the development and delivery of education, presentations, and psycho-education for clients, families, service providers, the community, and staff members.
- Participate in Social Work Meetings: Participate in Social Work meetings, peer consultation, clinical consultation, committees, treatment care conferences, and research.
- Master's Degree in Social Work: Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited university.
- Experience in Mental Health Setting: Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a mental health setting. Experience in working with forensic clients is an asset.
- Experience in Controlled Act of Psychotherapy: Experience in practicing controlled act of psychotherapy (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) with qualified training/supervision according to the standards of the hospital and College (OCSWSSW).
- Electronic Health Record Systems: High level of knowledge, skill, and confidence in using electronic health record systems for clinical documentation and navigation.
- Member in Good Standing: Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
- Client-Centered Approach: Strong client- and family-centered approach.
- Recovery-Based Treatment: Understanding of recovery-based treatment and programs of clients with severe and persistent mental illness.
- Knowledge of Community Resources: Knowledge of community resources, Mental Health Court, Ontario Review Board, and applicable legislated acts (MHA, PHIPA, The Health Care Consent Act).
- Strong Advocacy and Conflict Resolution Skills: Strong advocacy and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and work ethics.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Valid Driver's License: Valid driver's license.
- Variable Hours: Willingness to work variable hours, evenings, and weekends if required.
- English Language Proficiency: English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading, and writing. Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.
