Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Social Worker to join our team at The Royal Mental Health Centre. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide professional social work services and interventions to clients with severe and persistent mental illness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychotherapy, individual/family/group therapy and interventions, psychosocial assessment, risk assessment and management, crisis intervention and discharge planning.
  • Develop and implement creative treatment, recovery and therapy plans, and support services and programs responsive to clients' needs.
  • Engage in client- and family-centered care, advocating on behalf of clients, families and caregivers for appropriate services and resources.
  • Collaborate, consult and liaise with the interdisciplinary team and community service providers.
  • Provide timely and comprehensive written assessments, treatment and discharge reports.
  • Participate in the teaching, education and supervision of Social Work students.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and data collection, in accordance with hospital, college and legislative standards.
Qualifications
  • Master degree in Social Work from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a mental health setting, with experience in working with forensic clients an asset.
  • Experience in practicing controlled act of psychotherapy, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, with qualified training/supervision.
  • High level of knowledge, skill and confidence in using electronic health record systems for clinical documentation and navigation.
  • Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
