We are seeking a highly skilled AML TFA Auditor Lead Specialist to join our Internal Audit team at Banque Nationale du Canada.

Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned auditor with expertise in Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing (AMLTFA) to lead audits of processes and systems related to the PCMLTFA.

About the Role
  • You will work closely with the PCMLTFA Chief Advisor to ensure alignment of audit processes with internal laws, regulations, and standards.
  • You will coordinate, plan, and execute audits of processes, systems, and activities related to the PCMLTFA, taking into account identified risks.
  • You will effectively communicate audit results to internal stakeholders.
  • You will maintain a close relationship with the Bank's other risk management sectors.
  • You will continuously keep informed on regulatory requirements, industry practices, and audit techniques, contributing to enhancing PCMLTFA expertise among colleagues in Internal Audit.
  • You will carry out regular and rigorous follow-up with partners on the progress of action plans developed following the audit work and/or regulatory authorities' reports, ensuring the quality of documentation.
  • You will represent the internal audit team to regulatory authorities on matters related to the PCMLTFA, ensuring the bank maintains a transparent and constructive relationship with regulators.
Key Qualifications
  • You have an industry-related bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant experience or a master's degree in accounting, finance, law, or a related field and 5 years of relevant experience.
  • You have proven experience in internal or external auditing, with a solid understanding of auditing principles, professional standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • You have demonstrated expertise in combating the PCMLTFA, with in-depth knowledge of local and international regulations (such as OSFI, FINTRAC, OFAC) and compliance practices in the banking sector.
  • You can evaluate and interpret complex information, identify problems, and propose strategic solutions in line with regulatory expectations.
  • You have knowledge of data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, data visualization tools) to support audit recommendations and enable continuous process auditing.
