Senior Compliance Analyst AML Technical Specialist

As a Senior Compliance Analyst - AML Technical Specialist at C.G.I., you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization by contributing to the development and maintenance of robust anti-money laundering (AML) systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement innovative technical solutions that mitigate financial crime risks.
This position is ideal for individuals who have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining AML systems and tools using Python, SQL, and other relevant technologies.
Main Responsibilities- Technical Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain AML systems and tools using Python, SQL, and other relevant technologies.
- Optimize database performance and conduct data analysis to identify trends and potential risks.
- Collaborate with business analysts and project managers to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code to ensure system reliability and maintainability.
- Problem-Solving and Innovation:
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues, proposing effective solutions to minimize system downtime.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the development of innovative AML solutions to enhance the organization's risk management capabilities.
- Risk Management and Compliance:
- Understand and apply relevant AML regulations and industry standards to ensure compliance.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify potential vulnerabilities in AML systems and processes.
- Collaborate with compliance teams to implement effective controls and monitoring procedures.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Python programming and SQL.
- Strong proficiency in database technologies (MS SQL, Oracle, Big Data/cloud databases).
- 3+ years of experience in Java programming.
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, including design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of risk management and compliance principles in the financial industry.
- Experience with XML technologies, statistics, and AML systems.
- Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques.
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
We estimate the salary range for this position to be between $80,000 and $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. The company also offers a hybrid workplace model, with 50% of work required on-site in Montreal.
