Job Title: Contract Safety Coordinator

As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees, clients, and the general public. Your primary responsibility will be to manage our Health, Safety, and Environmental programs at the project level, driving a safety-oriented approach to work.

About the Role

This position requires someone with the ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding our policies, procedures, and software programs. You will be responsible for developing a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications, managing the safety program of oil and gas construction projects, and leading a team of safety coordinators and technicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively between Ganotec and client management regarding safety matters.
  • Develop and implement safety plans, ensuring compliance with federal, provincial, client, and Ganotec policies.
  • Conduct daily reviews and inspections of the jobsite to identify and correct potential hazards.
  • Coordinate and present safety training to support company and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with the home office Safety Department on overall program, project training needs, injury management, citation management, OH&S reporting requirements, and other applicable matters.
Requirements
  • 8+ years' experience managing large construction and industrial projects, including oil and gas.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of a safety program on projects of increasing complexity.
  • Knowledge of construction safety, current local and federal regulations, hazard recognition, record keeping, and injury management skills.
