About the Role:

The Health and Safety Advisor will serve as a business partner for Highway Operations and Tolling, providing expert guidance on safety programs and protocols. This includes construction safety, working at heights, traffic control, and other critical areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement safety programs and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Lead incident investigations and develop recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance safety awareness and knowledge.
  • Manage the corporate library of Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Toolbox Talks (TBTs).

Requirements:

  • Diploma and/or Degree in a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Certification in one or a combination of the following will be considered an asset: IHSA CORTM Auditor or ISO 45001 Auditor, First Aid Instructor.

407 ETR is an all-electronic open-access toll highway located in the Greater Toronto Area in Ontario, Canada. The highway spans 108 kilometres from Burlington in the west to Pickering in the east.
