About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at Finning. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar equipment to the highest standards
  • Perform field diagnosis and field running repairs to minimize downtime
  • Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily to ensure accurate and efficient repairs
  • Complete technical documentation, including service reports, warranty, and crossover notes
  • Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team to ensure seamless communication
  • Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required

Requirements:

  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
  • Valid driver's license with a successful recent driver's abstract
  • Mining equipment repair experience, especially with 797 B & F Trucks, D11, 24 motor graders, and 740 ADT, is considered an asset
