Job Summary:

The Toronto District School Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Planner to join our team. As a key member of our Strategy and Planning Department, you will provide leadership and technical expertise in enrolment, facility utilization, and accommodation planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of planners in the development and implementation of the TDSB's Long-Term Program and Accommodation Strategy.
  • Provide technical expertise in enrolment projections, facility capacity, and accommodation studies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address space issues and develop solutions to meet the needs of our students and schools.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize facility utilization and ensure that our schools have the resources they need to provide high-quality education.
  • Provide guidance and support to Principals, Superintendents, and other stakeholders on enrolment and accommodation planning.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Urban Planning or a related field.
  • Seven years of progressively responsible experience in a senior planning role.
  • Membership with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) and the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
