Law Enforcement Officer

Job Summary
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Police Officer to join our team at Richard Bland College. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for providing a safe and secure living, learning, and working environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Enforce state laws and college policies and procedures
- Conduct thorough patrols of the college campus
- Provide emergency medical response and conduct routine traffic enforcement
- Investigate any violations of laws and college policies
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Current certification as a law enforcement officer by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services
- U.S. citizen
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Possess valid Virginia driver's license
- No convictions of felonies and/or serious misdemeanors
- Successfully pass all phases of the police officer selection process
Preferred Qualifications
- Law enforcement experience, preferably in a campus environment
- Completed FEMA/NIMS IS-100 and IS-700
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR
