Bakery Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Bakery Assistant to join our team at 98 Street Your Independent Grocer. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of sweet and savory goods, including bread, pastries, and cakes.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare dough and batters for baking, following recipes and special customer orders
- Requisition and order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed
- Bake mixed dough and batters to produce high-quality products
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
- Prepare special orders and decorate cakes and baked goods
- Draw up production schedules to ensure efficient workflow
- Inspect kitchen and food service areas to maintain high standards of quality and cleanliness
- Operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
- Organize and maintain inventory of ingredients and supplies
- Oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods to maximize sales and customer satisfaction
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a bakery or related field
- Ability to distinguish between colors, attention to detail, and manual dexterity
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle heavy loads, and stand for extended periods
- Reliability, dependability, and strong work ethic
- Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Physically demanding work requiring manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high level of quality and productivity
