Job Summary

MOBIA is seeking a skilled Field Data Collector to join our team. As a Field Data Collector, you will be responsible for capturing utility pole and customer premise information pertaining to existing telecom infrastructure in various field locations, using a state-of-the-art GIS handheld unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute data collection activities in the field, ensuring accurate and comprehensive data collection.
  • Utilize GIS handheld units to collect and record data, adhering to approved guidelines and protocols.
  • Work independently, with minimal supervision, to achieve data collection goals.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and high-quality data delivery.
  • Travel to various locations, including remote areas, to collect data, as required.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as telecommunications, geography, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working in a telecommunications environment, preferably with GIS devices and mobile app software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to interface with other departments.
  • Valid G driver's license with a clear driving history.
  • Proficiency with MS-Office and the ability to learn new systems and software programs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with GIS devices, such as Trimble or IKE GPS units.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and outside plant engineering principles.
  • 1-2 years of experience working as a Land Surveyor.
