About the Opportunity

Partner Staffing is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Wildlife Biologist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wildlife conservation and management, with a focus on leading and participating in field teams in various disciplines. The successful applicant will contribute to environmental impact assessments, mitigation plans, and proposals, and assist in preparing and obtaining regulatory approvals for a wide variety of projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and participate in field teams in various disciplines, including wildlife, birds, fish, aquatic habitat, water quality, vegetation, soils, wetlands, environmental monitoring, sediment, and erosion control.
  • Contribute to environmental impact assessments, mitigation plans, and proposals.
  • Assist in preparing and obtaining regulatory approvals for a wide variety of projects, including transportation, renewable energy, mining, oil, and gas.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship within a team environment.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and work collaboratively within corporate culture.
Requirements

To qualify, you will need a minimum of a B.Sc. in Biology or related discipline with five years experience, and RPBio, PBiol, and/or P.Ag. designation or eligibility. Courses or certifications in the following areas would be considered assets: electrofishing certification, fish identification, bird survey methodology and bird identification, amphibian salvage methodology and amphibian identification, erosion and sediment control, plant identification.

Candidates with the following skills and experience will be considered: sound knowledge of field techniques and regulatory standards necessary for conducting a variety of field activities, excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management skills, and physical fitness.
