Brandt is seeking a skilled Service Writer to join our Ottawa Peterbilt Dealership team. As a Service Writer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate and on-time reports and records for the Service Department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Field internal and external customer inquiries to the Service Department, providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Open work orders as directed by the Service Manager/Shop Foreman and maintain control until they are closed and invoiced, ensuring seamless communication with customers and technicians.
  • Maintain the service library with current information, including files, bulletins, manuals, and multimedia resources, under the direct supervision of the Service Manager.
  • Update customer profiles using equipment, hours, or other information from customer work orders, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Prepare replacement orders for accessories and supplies, ensuring timely delivery and minimizing downtime.
  • Assist in preparing Service Technician efficiency reports, providing valuable insights for process improvement.
  • Process warranty and/or product improvement claims, including computation of charges, submission, and follow-up, ensuring prompt resolution and customer satisfaction.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of office procedures and protocols.
  • General understanding of mechanical and technical terms, with a focus on customer service and communication.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting practices and principles.

Required Experience:

  • Experience with standard desktop applications, including Microsoft Office and internet functions.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience, with a focus on customer service and administrative skills.
