Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Summer Youth Program Leader. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and participating in summer programs for children and youth, fostering their personal growth through fun and rewarding recreation and sport activities.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead and Participate in Programs: Lead and participate in all summer programs, including recreational and sport activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for participants.
  • Deliver High-Quality Programming: Deliver programming based on skill level and age of participants, utilizing your creativity and problem-solving skills to ensure engaging and effective sessions.
  • Ensure Safety and Supervision: Be responsible for the safety, supervision, and security of all participants during program activities.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • National Lifeguard Certification, Bronze Cross, Paddle Canada, CUI, or other relevant certifications as an asset;
  • Well-Developed Interpersonal Skills, ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with program participants, members, staff, and volunteers;
  • Ability to Maintain Calm Demeanor in stressful situations, responding with sensitivity and personal awareness to the diverse needs of members;
  • Commitment to Socially Inclusive Environment, working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and abilities;
Additional Requirements

In addition to the above qualifications, you must also meet the following requirements:

  • Be 16 Years Old by June 23, 2025;
  • Have a Current Standard First Aid and CPR "C" Certification;
  • Hold a Valid Permit to Work in Canada;
  • Pass a Police Record Check not more than 6 months old;
  • Complete Mandatory Training for the protection of Children & Youth and submit the certificate of completion.
