As a key member of the Finance & Administration Department at Agnico Eagle, you will play a vital role in driving business growth and success. Reporting to the Mine Controller, you will be responsible for analyzing and reporting on variances from budget and forecast, cost to perform various production activities, and managing operational expenditures budgets/forecasts with departmental managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the month/quarter and year-end financial closes;
  • Identify and generate financial status reports (monthly) by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts, and budgets;
  • Prepare various reports and provide analysis of variances for key operative parameters;
  • Serve as a key resource in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts and support managers throughout the budget & forecast process (both OPEX and CAPEX);
  • Participate as a key role in cost-saving opportunities;
  • Prepare reports to assist management in understanding departmental costs;
  • Assist with economic justifications for capital expenditures as required and ensure appropriate documentation and filing of the Authority for Expenditure (AFE) reporting sheets;
  • Identify and track key performance metrics for capital expenditures and participate in long and short-range financial planning for capital expenditures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in a related discipline (Business, Commerce, Accounting, Economics, etc.);
  • CFA, APA, or other accounting designations (e.g. ACCA) or working towards designation are considered an asset;
  • 5 to 8 years' of relevant experience working in a financial planning function;
  • Experience with SAP, XERAS & Hyperion, leading software implementations & working as super user is considered an asset;
  • Advanced working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
