Job Summary


We are seeking an Early Childhood Development Assistant to join our team in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The successful candidate will work closely with our Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) to provide support and assistance in providing proper care and promoting the positive emotional, physical, social, and cognitive development of children.


Job Description


The Early Childhood Development Assistant will assist ECEs in creating a safe and healthy learning environment that promotes children's physical, cognitive, and communication skills as well as their creativity. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with children and parents from diverse backgrounds.


Responsibilities:



  • Assist ECEs in maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment.
  • Support ECEs in implementing activities and programs that promote children's physical, cognitive, and communication skills.
  • Work with ECEs to create an environment that builds positive self-concept and individual strength.
  • Treat children with respect and celebrate their successes.
  • Promote positive interaction between children and adults by helping to develop social skills.
  • Assist ECEs with daily routine activities including arrival and departure activities, naps, snacks, and other daily living activities.
  • Assist in organizing, decorating, and tidying the premises.

Requirements



  • Current Infant/Child First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Completed or enrolled in the 40 hour program of studies as required by the Province of Manitoba.
  • Experience working with children in a related environment is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and evacuate children during emergencies.
