Job Overview

As a key member of our team, the Parliamentary Assistant will provide exceptional support to our Member of Parliament. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a keen understanding of parliamentary processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcoming visitors to Parliament Hill and coordinating with security teams.
  • Conducting research and providing administrative support to parliamentary committees.
  • Attending stakeholder meetings and events, with a focus on follow-up and reporting.
  • Staying up-to-date on riding media, social media, and community issues.
  • Coordinating tours, events, and outreach activities for the MP.
  • Monitoring daily proceedings in the House.
  • Triaging incoming correspondence and invitations to the Parliament Hill Office.
Requirements
  • University degree or post-secondary education in political science or a related field, combined with experience working in an administrative support role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of written French.
  • Tact, diplomacy, and discretion in building and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Thorough understanding of Canadian politics and parliamentary services.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet tight deadlines.
