As a Safety Specialist, you will play a critical role in implementing and maintaining our safety programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing training and support to our employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety programs and procedures to prevent injuries, illnesses, and property damage.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide training and coaching to employees on safety procedures and best practices.
- Collaborate with management to ensure compliance with corporate safety program expectations and applicable federal and state laws.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain accurate records of safety audits, inspections, and training.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 4-6 years of relevant experience in safety, risk management, or a related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management principles.
Physical and Cognitive Requirements
- Ability to follow policies and procedures.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret information.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Ability to sit, walk, or stand for up to 10 hours per day.
- Ability to intermittently crawl, squat, climb, twist, bend, stoop, push, or pull.
- Must possess visual acuity, i.e., close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to lift or carry items less than 40 pounds.
