Job Title: Quality Plant Engineering Lead
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Plant Engineering Lead to join our team at RGBSI. As a Quality Plant Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers to deliver product changes and launches on time. You will work closely with the Quality Plant Engineering Manager to improve the quality level of new and customer vehicles in a context of ever more ambitious quality objectives.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers to deliver product changes and launches on time.
- Work closely with the Quality Plant Engineering Manager to improve the quality level of new and customer vehicles.
- Convene daily operational production meetings with the Quality Plant Engineering Manager and his team to deal with quality issues and production.
- Participate in Quality ENG tech clubs to share knowledge and best practices.
- Implement good ideas and standards (Read Across) to improve quality and efficiency.
- Ensure the right application of technical requirements and meta function "métiers" standards in the plant.
- Ensure that the skills of the team are at the right level.
- Ensure the management activities of the team, including daily management control meetings.
- Ensure that the team is working in a safe environment.
- Lead quality KPI management to achieve quality objectives, driving improvement and corrective actions.
- Resolve systemic, chronic, or major quality issues (Top Warranty, Recalls).
- Provide technical support for Yard Holds and Product Related Issues (PRI's).
- Set up and maintain controls for process and product standards for vehicle and system functional objectives (ADAS, BSR, FEA).
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of years of related experience.
- Previous experience in an Engineering Department, Vehicle/mechanic Plant, or Project team.
- Ability to lead an Engineering team to deliver product changes and launches on time.
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, from high-level meetings to the shop floor.
- Ability to work off-shift hours as necessary.
- Self-motivated and directed.
- Ability to thrive in a high-intensity environment while working on multiple projects.
- Rigorous and pragmatic.
- Languages: plant language and English.
Preferred Requirements:
- Master's degree.
- Green belt.
- World Class Manufacturing experience.
Additional Must Haves:
- Experience in Vehicle assembly line processes.
- Issues management and problem-solving.
- Strong plus for candidates with technical know-how related to Engine/Transmission/Intake/Exhaust/Cooling/Fuel/HVAC systems.
- Driving a client vehicle is required.
- % of the time must be spent at Brampton Plant.
- Travel: possible travel to Windsor Assembly Plant for training.
- Travel outside of plant for work is occasional.
- Ability to work with and lead in a unionized workforce.
- Self-motivated or goal-driven.
