The Prince George Native Friendship Centre is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Adult Front-line Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our supportive housing program, you will play a vital role in providing individualized support and services to adults in need.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct support and services to adults in our supportive housing programs, including Tse-Koo Huba Yoh, Ketso Yoh, Friendship Lodge, House of Friendship, The Inn, and 2Nd Ave Shelter.
- Work collaboratively with clients to develop and implement individualized service plans, promoting their independence and well-being.
- Assist clients with daily living tasks, such as meal preparation, household management, and personal care.
- Connect clients with community resources and services, including healthcare, education, and employment opportunities.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of program policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and service delivery.
- Diploma in Social Services or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with at-risk adults, particularly those from Indigenous backgrounds.
- Knowledge of community services, resources, and systems, including healthcare, education, and employment opportunities.
- Basic knowledge of group facilitation, skill training, and individual intervention techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to cultural sensitivity and awareness.
- First Aid certification, Class 4 Driver's License (asset), CPI-Non-violent crisis intervention, Suicide Intervention, and Food Safe certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to undergo a successful criminal record search.
- Ability to lift up to 24 pounds.
