Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Adult Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will work in a team environment and provide specific support to clients who access our 30-bed co-ed emergency shelter program and House of Friendship Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day support and crisis support to clients
  • Prepare and deliver food, and prepare beds for intake
  • Supervise drop-in services and provide access to personal storage
  • Enter data and refer clients to community-based programming, skill training, and development
Requirements
  • Social Services Diploma or combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work with at-risk adults in various settings
  • Awareness of community services, resources, and social determinants impacting those who are unhoused
  • Experience working with Aboriginal groups/communities in a cultural context
  • Certification in First Aid, Class 4 Driver's License (asset), CPI-Non-violent crisis intervention, Suicide Intervention, and Food Safe, or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to undergo a successful criminal record search
