Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

Job Summary:
As a Diagnostic Sonographer I with Alberta Health Services, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality ultrasound services to patients. Your responsibilities will include preparing patients for examination, reviewing patient history, explaining procedures, and obtaining ultrasound images of diagnostic quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of standardized and complex ultrasound services for diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology.
- Prepare patients for examination, review patient history, and explain procedures.
- Obtain ultrasound images of diagnostic quality and take initial action to resolve abnormal findings.
- Assist with diagnosis, clinical intervention, and patient management while ensuring a high level of patient care and safety.
- Collaborate with Radiologists, Cardiologists, Perinatologists, and other medical staff as required.
Requirements:
- Completion of an extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program or certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program.
- Active or eligible registration with Sonography Canada and/or Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
