We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Positive Life Concepts (PLC Recruitment). As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound testing, ensuring excellent image quality, and providing accurate information to assist cardiologists with the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic ultrasound testing, including echocardiograms, to assist cardiologists with patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Ensure excellent image quality and accuracy in test results, adhering to American Society of Echocardiography standards.
- Apply independent judgment and critical thinking during examinations to ensure all relevant data is accurately captured.
- Maintain patient safety and confidentiality throughout the study.
- Observe patients during diagnostic procedures, noting any symptoms or changes in vital signs, and summon medical aid when necessary.
- Use proper patient preparation, equipment settings, and interpretation techniques to ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Ensure accurate patient information in diagnostic machines and electronic medical records.
- Follow procedures for proper equipment maintenance and ensure efficient operation.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, ensuring examination rooms are properly supplied and equipped.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and other support staff to provide optimal patient care.
- Current license with Sonography Canada or ARDMS.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum 1-year active experience in a similar role performing echocardiograms independently in an accredited Canadian echocardiography laboratory.
- Experience with contrast echocardiography (agitated saline, contrast agents).
- Proficiency in digital image acquisition, study interpretation, and report generation as per the American Society of Echocardiography standards.
