Critical Care Education Specialist

Grace Hospital is seeking an experienced Critical Care Education Specialist to join our team.
About the RoleThis is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled Clinical Educator to lead the development and implementation of education programs in critical care units.
Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate education programs for critical care staff and course participants.
- Collaborate with the Program Director and Site Director to achieve the goals of the Winnipeg Critical Care Education Program.
- Demonstrate commitment to the vision, values, and objectives of Grace Hospital.
- Minimum 2 years recent clinical experience in Critical Care Nursing (Intensive Care) required.
- Recent teaching experience (e.g., facilitating for an educational institution, delivering in-services to interprofessionals in a clinical setting, teaching formalized education programs, and/or other similar recognized adult teaching experience) required.
- Experience in planning, developing, and evaluating educational programs preferred.
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required.
- Graduate of post-basic course in Intensive Care Nursing or recognized equivalent required.
- Master's of Nursing preferred.
- Eligible for academic appointment with the University of Manitoba.
- Active registration with the professional body with which they are registered.
- Participation in professional associations (e.g., Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba) preferred.
- Health Care Provider registration required.
- CPR Instructor Level an asset.
- Provider Level ACLS registration required.
- Advanced preparation in Adult Education preferred.
- Instructor level ACLS preferred.
- CNA certification in critical care an asset.
- Knowledge of College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice, Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses, Canadian Association of Critical Care Nurses Standards of Practice, Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA), Regional/Facility/unit policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines, Nursing care knowledge related to critical care clinical area, Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Protection of Persons in Care Act, Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), Principles of Routine Practices, and other legislated acts.
- Roles and responsibilities of members of the health care team.
- Principles of delegation.
- Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of common software.
- A comprehensive knowledge of adult education, the research process, program development and evaluation, and health care theory and practice.
The successful candidate will be expected to work independently and as a member of the healthcare team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and disability insurance, as well as a pension plan.
