Vineyard Worker Job Description

At FRIND WINERY LTD, we are seeking a skilled Vineyard Worker to join our team. As a Vineyard Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing the growth of vines, vine canopy, and grapes. This includes planting, cultivating, and irrigating crops, as well as tying and securing plants.

Work Site Environment

The work site environment for this role will be in a viticulture setting, with exposure to wet/damp, dusty, hot, and all weather conditions. You will be working in a dirty environment and will be required to stand for extended periods.

Tasks

As a Vineyard Worker, your tasks will include:

  • Maintaining and managing the growth of vines, vine canopy, and grapes
  • Planting, cultivating, and irrigating crops
  • Tying and securing plants
  • Harvesting crops
  • Operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment
  • Training workers in duties and policies

Equipment and Machinery Experience

You will have experience with tractors and hand tools, and will be required to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.

Automated Systems Experience

You will have experience with automated irrigation systems.

Transportation/Travel Information

You will be required to have a valid driver's licence.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

The work conditions for this role will be physically demanding, with repetitive tasks, work under pressure, and attention to detail required. You will be required to stand for extended periods and will be working in a dirty environment.

Weight Handling

You will be required to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
