About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Welder to join our team in BC, Canada. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding tasks in various environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints: You will read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications to ensure accurate execution of welding tasks.
  • Work Environment: You will work in a construction, maintenance/repair, and new fabrication environment, adapting to changing conditions as needed.
  • Welding Techniques: You will perform Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) in all positions, selecting the proper weld filler material for each task.
  • Equipment Operation: You will operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment and semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment, as well as air arc cutting equipment (carbon arc cutting).
  • Setup and Maintenance: You will set up SMAW and FCAW equipment for welding tasks, ensuring all necessary safety precautions are in place.
  • Lifting and Moving: You will lift, move, or position equipment at work sites, adhering to safety guidelines and protocols.
Physical Effort and Work Conditions
  • Working at Heights: You will work at heights from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms, requiring physical stamina and attention to safety protocols.
  • Physical Demands: You will stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and climb, handling parts and equipment that weigh up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Inclement Weather: You will work in confined spaces and inclement weather, adapting to changing conditions as needed.
  • Overtime and Extended Hours: You may be required to support extended hours and overtime as business needs dictate.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Education: You must have completed college/CEGEP/vocational studies and hold a Welder Trade Certification with current tickets for SMAW and FCAW.
  • Trade Flexibility: Full trade flexibility is required, with the ability to adapt to different welding techniques and environments.
  • Security Clearance: A pre-employment Government Security Clearance/Background and Credit check will be completed prior to hire.
  • PPE and Respirator Mask: You must wear full PPE, including a Fit Tested Respirator Mask, at all times during work hours.
Salary and Benefits
