About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Team Lead to join our team at Broadsign Careers. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of our software products while ensuring high-quality standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide the team's development efforts towards technical excellence and successful project delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship.
  • Establish a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance reviews and regular 1-on-1s with team members, providing constructive feedback to ensure the team is progressing in the right direction.
  • Work with engineering leadership and product managers to develop project and resource plans/schedules.
  • Partner with HR on team staffing decisions, including hiring, performance management, and corrective measures as needed.
  • Ensure the team contributes towards department and company objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in a software developer role.
  • Strong communication and managerial skills.
  • Ability to lead a team through continuous learning techniques.
  • Ability to motivate a team.
  • Understanding of various coding methods and computer languages.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work closely with multiple teams throughout the organization.

Knowledge of French is required for positions permanently located in Quebec so incumbents can communicate with their colleagues and partners in Quebec as necessary. French-language training is offered to all incumbents in permanent positions in Quebec who do not have a good knowledge of French. Fluent English is required for this position to communicate with colleagues, clients, and partners (or suppliers) located outside Quebec and to understand the technical and scientific documentation used in our industry.
