About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join our finance team as a Strategic Financial Leader. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing general accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, and supporting various accounting functions within the organization.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely invoicing of customers, tracking of receivables, and follow-up on outstanding payments.
  • Manage and maintain the general ledger by ensuring accurate posting of all transactions.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other key accounts.
  • Investigate discrepancies and resolve any issues related to account balances.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leaders to ensure alignment of financial data and business objectives.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring all entries are posted accurately and on time.
  • Assist in preparing tax returns, including sales tax, income tax, and VAT.
  • Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable Canadian and US accounting standards.
  • Coordinate the preparation of year-end audit schedules and assist with audit inquiries.
  • Monitor and analyze budget-to-actual performance and provide recommendations for cost control and process improvements.
  • Analyze trends, costs, revenues, and other financial data to ensure the organization's financial health.

What You'll Bring:

  • A strong background in finance or accounting, preferably in the technology sector.
  • Experience with financial management software (e.g., QuickBooks) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent analytical skills.
  • The ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs in a fast-paced environment.
