The Role
We're seeking a skilled Senior Commercial Mortgage Underwriter to join our dynamic commercial team. As part of this role, you'll be responsible for underwriting CMHC-insured and conventional commercial mortgages while adhering to established policies and underwriting standards. You'll work closely with external contacts, internal partners, and senior management to ensure transactions are processed efficiently and meet service goals and annual target volumes.

This position requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong business acumen, and effective communication abilities. You'll also need to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in secured lending and commercial mortgage markets.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and underwrite commercial credit facilities for various mortgage product types, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with external and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient transaction processing.
  • Manage your deal flow efficiently to meet prescribed deadlines and deliver superior customer service.
  • Prepare monthly reports and administrative duties as required by the department and senior management.


Your Qualifications
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
  • Proficient underwriting skills with a minimum of 2 years' commercial mortgage experience or SFR underwriting experience.
  • Demonstrated service excellence and ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Post-secondary education (diploma/degree) preferred, preferably in business or finance.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office, primarily Word and Excel.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

$80,000 - $120,000 per year, based on experience.
