Job Title: Education Assistant - Individual

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Education Assistant to join our team at West Vancouver Schools. As an Education Assistant - Individual, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs in a classroom or learning support room setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of adaptations and strategies outlined in the student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
  • Provide support to students with diverse physical, social, and cognitive needs
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and Learning Support Teachers to develop and implement individualized plans
  • Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure seamless support

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 graduation
  • Post-secondary training in Special Education or related field
  • Recent experience supporting students with special needs, preferably in an ABA program
  • Ability to operate specialized equipment and facilitate student movement
  • Valid B.C. Driver's license
  • Flexibility to work in a variety of settings and adapt to changing needs
