Job Opportunity: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Securities Lawyer to join our team at Urban Legal Recruitment Inc.

About the Role: As a mid-level Securities & Capital Markets Associate, you will have the opportunity to work with a collegial team and hone your skills in a broad range of corporate transactions, securities, and corporate matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acting for issuers, underwriters, and selling shareholders in domestic and cross-border public offerings and private placement of debt, equity, and structured finance products
  • Working with corporations, investment banks, and financial institutions in negotiated and contested mergers and acquisitions, proxy contests, independent committee engagements, and defence preparations
  • Dealing with corporate governance matters, disclosure issues, equity and debt trading strategies, as well as regulatory compliance matters
  • Providing superior communication, drafting skills, and strong attention to detail
  • Client-oriented approach
  • Law degree and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta
