Job Description

BQ INTERNATIONAL LTD. is seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Cloud Architect to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for creating a cloud-centric strategy, setting principles and standards, and planning the transformation of our corporation from a data centre/on-premise based organization to a cloud-first organization.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a cloud strategy that aligns with the corporation's five-year ambition, ensuring a secure, stable, fault-tolerant, and cost-effective cloud computing environment.
  2. Work closely with business owners and Lean Portfolio Management to manage the enterprise portfolio, business epics, and technology enablers, linking how change opportunities bring the corporation closer to its strategic directions.
  3. Provide direction to individual client work units on acceptable tactical objectives and plans for moving from tactical to strategic architectural objectives.
  4. Collaborate with leaders of the corporation to modernize and optimize lines of business and address market disruptors.
  5. Monitor and adopt technology innovations into the corporation's technical footprint.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  2. 10+ years of experience in information technology covering a wide range of technologies and disciplines, including:
    1. Five years as an architect.
    2. Three years as a lead architect.
  3. Experience successfully migrating a corporation from a data centre/on-premise deployment model to the cloud, including:
    1. Creation of strategy, roadmaps, vision statements, business cases, solution contexts, and setting principles and standards for a secure, stable, fault-tolerant, cost-effective cloud computing environment.
    2. Participation in and leadership of migration efforts as part of delivery programs that migrated compute power from on-premise to the cloud.
  4. Experience with the Azure cloud platform is a must.
  5. Experience with Google and Amazon cloud platforms is an asset.
  6. Experience with Kubernetes is an asset.
  7. Good understanding of the architectural principles of cloud-based platforms including SaaS, PaaS, multitenancy, and multi-tiered infrastructure.
  8. Good understanding of all cloud offerings in the market and ability to discuss cloud architectures.
  9. Good understanding of enterprise application integration, including SOA, ESB, and ETL.
  10. Good understanding of process orchestration, BPM, CEP, MDM, BI/BA, etc.
  11. Good understanding of the security processes, standards, and issues involved in multi-tier cloud or hybrid applications.
  12. Familiarity with principles of network, application, and information security.
  13. Good understanding of enterprise application integration technologies as well as common ECA topics such as persona-based journeys, process orchestration, master data management, analytics and insights, artificial intelligence, etc.
  14. Experience with architectural frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, etc.
  15. SAFe Architect Certification is an asset.
