The Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Woodland Wellness Centre is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Cook to join their Operations & Maintenance Department in La Ronge, SK.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of the kitchen, including food preparation, managing food supplies, and supervising kitchen staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food service and maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment.
- Plan and prepare menus that promote healthy eating habits and cater to special dietary needs.
- Work closely with other staff members to harvest, plant, and grow fresh produce in the Greenhouse.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of sanitation and hygiene.
- Manage food supplies, kitchen equipment, and resources to minimize waste and optimize efficiency.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure special diets are met and provide excellent customer service.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and relevant job-specific training.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Head Cook and in a supervisory role.
- College credits or relevant training courses in Hospitality and Food Industry are preferred.
- Ability to use computer efficiently and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to speak/understand Cree Language is considered an asset.
- Saskatchewan Safe Food Handling Certificate and Class 5 Driver License are required.
