Job Summary:

Altus Group is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Cost Consulting and Project Management team in Toronto, Ontario. As a P. Eng, you will provide technical expertise in project delivery, including procurement, project management, cost and schedule development, commercial and technical risk analysis, and mitigation for P3 infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and recommend technical solutions for P3 projects, developing clear deliverable frameworks for clients.
  • Provide advisory services to public and private clients on P3 projects, coordinating technical reviews and assessing risks.
  • Identify major impacts of developments along transit corridors, determining the necessity and scope of improvements, and communicating comments to clients.
  • Develop technical specifications for owner/government clients, providing advisory services from procurement to implementation.
  • Track project progress, managing concurrent projects with frequent shifts in focus, and analyzing data, project scheduling, and budget accuracy.
  • Consult with engineering staff, liaise with external agencies, and conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with permits, regulations, and contract documents.
  • Provide PPP advisory services, understanding PPP processes, products, and procurement routes, and supporting commercial and contractual aspects of PPP projects.
  • Benchmarking services, reviewing service costs, market testing, and value for money reviews, and providing payment mechanism modeling and analysis.
  • Advising financial institutions and project sponsors on risk assessment and control, identifying project risks, and implementing control mechanisms.
  • Selecting and leading bid teams, determining bid strategies, and providing guidance to junior staff.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or comparable disciplines.
  • 11-15+ years of experience in P3 Infrastructure Advisory Services.
  • Professional Engineer Designation and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Self-motivated with integrity, strategic thinking, and analytical skills, with a deep understanding of P3 financing mechanisms.
  • Solid business acumen and financial risk analysis skills, with the ability to develop and manage business plans and budgets.
  • Strong understanding of the factors influencing the development cycle of PPP for high-profile complex infrastructure projects, with knowledge of the construction industry in Canada and the US.
