What is the Opportunity?

Are you a results-driven professional with a passion for delivering high-performing applications? We're seeking a talented and creative Senior Program Delivery Manager to join our FRIDA Data Management team.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing project/program delivery functions for Finance IT Data delivery services group. You will deliver initiatives using appropriate methods, including Agile and Iterative Waterfall, and ensure business goals and objectives are accomplished within approved time frames, scope, and budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own, lead, and manage project/program delivery function for Finance IT Data delivery services group.
  • Deliver initiatives using appropriate methods, including Agile and Iterative Waterfall.
  • Ensure business goals and objectives are accomplished within approved time frames, scope, and budget.
  • Champion strong program governance and execution assurance processes, integrating project plans at a program level, refining as required, and managing outcomes in line with business objectives.
  • Communicate cross-functionally, ensuring transparency of progress and outcomes. Report team progress and accomplishment up and across. Facilitate status updates, including project financials and running concurrent Agile/IWF projects in a fast-paced work environment, product demos, and retrospectives.
  • Remove impediments to deliver outcomes and results through proactive management of external dependencies, critical thinking/problem solving, and development of new solutions or approaches to ongoing challenges.
  • Continuously seek to improve team performance by promoting joint accountability for results and solving productivity issues. Facilitate and engage in analytical and technical conversations across platforms and multiple levels of influence.
  • Develop and manage the detailed schedule, identify early warning indicators, provide direction for early resolution of risks, issues, and clear escalation path for program committees.
  • Oversee financials and staffing levels to efficiently meet project delivery requirements and tracks value for effective decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners, including vendors, RBC IT teams, and product teams.
  • Build and present reporting for management-level presentations.
  • Ensure the completion of risk assessments and the identification and execution of contingency plans.
  • Coach the scrum team to apply appropriate processes to create successful products.
  • Establish strong working relationships across technical/business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners.
  • Collaborate with groups to define and achieve deliverables and ensure initiatives are effectively integrated into RBC procedures and processes.

What You Need to Succeed

Must-have

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of Agile Project Management and/or Senior-level Scrum Master experience, including both waterfall and agile project management on large transactional data processing environments.
  • PMP Designation with Certified Scrum Master/Coach with advanced proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, and other Project Management tools and methodologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of Agile Project Management workflows, including milestones, critical paths, product and sprint backlogs, work back schedules, and release burndown.
  • Proven ability to manage projects with third-party vendors and significant technology components.
  • Advanced knowledge of change management and risk management, working knowledge of Software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery methodologies/day-2-day ceremonies; Agile experience fostering team improvements through standard Agile processes and ceremonies.
  • Proven ability to manage high-visibility projects with third-party vendors and significant technology components, along with having a strong executive presence and advanced communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.

Nice-to-have

  • Undergraduate degree (preferred) - Preferably in Business, Technology, or Financial Services.
  • Previous experience working in Finance & Risk Data applications.
