About the Role

Bombardier is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Materials and Processes Engineer to join our team at the Global Completions Center. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and performing a diversified range of engineering tasks, including cost reduction initiatives, solving part non-conformity issues, and managing supplier changes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead development of test plans and work with internal and external laboratories to analyze results and review/approve test reports and specifications.
  • Support review and approval of Materials & Processes Specifications on Completion Technologies and associated Qualified Product Library.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, change documentation, certification plans, and release documentation pursuant to technical engineering modifications/specifications for materials in general.
  • Manage R&D projects, support re-design activities, and investigate new environmental regulations impacting Completions Technologies.
  • Handle complex issues, make challenging technical decisions, and provide regular status updates to upper management.
  • Lead and participate in process optimization and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Provide technical expertise in the domains of metallics, surface treatments, polymers, coatings, protective finishes, upholstery, leather, woodworking, and interior flammability.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in an aerospace/military production environment.
  • Significant knowledge of aircraft interior materials and processes, including surface treatments, coatings, protective finishes, leather, upholstery, woodworking, etc.
  • Knowledge of typical military and/or aerospace industry standards, such as CMH-17, MIL specs, Federal regulations, ASTM, ISO, and SAE specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of flammability requirements according to FAR 25 regulations.
  • Proficient in engineering design principles and reviewing drawings.
  • Adept at solving engineering problems in a high-pressure environment and dealing with complex issues quickly and independently.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French (written and oral).
  • Ability to work in a team environment and interact constantly with Senior Management, Professionals, and Technicians from other value stream functions.
  • Proficient with CATIA V5 and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
