Job Title: Process Engineering Assistant
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineering Assistant to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a Process Engineering Assistant, you will play a key role in providing design solutions and assessments for new, updated, and modified process systems, structures, and components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide design solutions and assessments for process systems, structures, and components.
- Prepare and/or review design documents, including design calculations, design requirements, assessments, technical specifications, drawings, bill of materials, and system code classification.
- Perform thermohydraulic evaluations on complex systems.
- Prepare and/or review engineering quotation requests and tender technical evaluations.
- Prepare and/or review engineering packages.
- Perform walkdowns, attend site visits, and meetings as required.
- Ensure applicable code, standards, and regulatory requirements are met.
- Ensure adherence to company quality program.
- Ensure adherence to project delivery requirements and schedule.
- Support engineering management with timely updates on engineering progress.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders as required.

Requirements:
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
- Engineering degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or Engineering Science.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in process-system design/analysis, preferably providing design solutions for CANDU nuclear power plants or BWR/PWR markets.
- Experience performing heat balance and thermohydraulic evaluations.
- Experience in process system design and layout.
- Knowledge of analytical tools used for mechanical and process design (e.g., ANSYS, Mathcad, Flomaster, NUCIRC, CATHENA, or similar).
- Working knowledge of/experience with the CSA B51 standard, ASME Section III, ASME B31.1 codes.
- Working knowledge of/experience using nuclear Codes and Standards or regulatory guides, including CSA N285.0 is an asset.
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Site experience in construction, or commissioning of plant mechanical systems for nuclear or other heavy industries is an asset.
- Experience performing work to nuclear power plants procedures and practices and qualifications for nuclear power plants engineering activities is an asset.
- Eligible for Security Clearance through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).
