Materials and Processes Engineer

Bombardier is seeking a highly skilled Materials and Processes Engineer to join our team at the Global Completions Center.
Why this role?
- As a Materials and Processes Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and performing a diversified range of engineering tasks, including leading cost reduction initiatives and solving part non-conformity issues.
- You will lead the development of test plans, work with internal and external laboratories, and analyze results and review/approve test reports and specifications.
- You will support the review and approval of Materials & Processes Specifications on Completion Technologies and associated Qualified Product Library.
- You will review and approve engineering drawings, change documentation, certification plans, and release documentation pursuant to technical engineering modifications/specifications for materials in general.
- You will manage R&D projects, support re-design activities, and investigate new environmental regulations impacting Completions Technologies.
- You will handle complex issues, make challenging technical decisions, and provide regular status updates to upper management.
- You will lead and participate in process optimization and cost reduction initiatives.
- You will provide technical expertise in the domains of metallics, surface treatments, polymers, coatings, protective finishes, upholstery, leather, woodworking, and interior flammability.
Requirements:
- You have a bachelor degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
- You have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in an aerospace/military production environment.
- You have significant knowledge on aircraft interior materials and processes, such as surface treatments, coatings, protective finishes, leather, upholstery, woodworking, etc.
- You are knowledgeable about typical military and/or aerospace industry standards, such as CMH-17, MIL specs, Federal regulations, ASTM, ISO, and SAE specifications.
- You have strong knowledge about flammability requirements according to FAR 25 regulations.
- You are proficient in engineering design principles and reviewing drawings.
- You are adept at solving engineering problems in a high-pressure environment and can deal with complex issues quickly and independently.
- You have excellent communication skills in English and French (written and oral).
- You must be able to work in a team environment and interact constantly with Senior Management, Professionals, and Technicians from other value stream functions (Methods, Quality, Logistics, etc.).
- You are proficient with CATIA V5 and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
