This Diagnostic Sonographer I position is based out of the Foothills Medical Center in a dynamic and fast-paced Diagnostic Imaging Department. The role supports safe and efficient patient-centered care experiences, providing high-quality direct patient care and producing quality images.
About the Role
As a Diagnostic Sonographer I, you will perform a variety of standardized and complex ultrasound services for disease diagnosis and tracking. Your responsibilities include preparing patients for examinations, reviewing patient history, explaining procedures, obtaining diagnostic-quality ultrasound images, and taking initial action to resolve abnormal findings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing a range of standardized and complex ultrasound services
- Preparing patients for examinations, including reviewing their medical history and explaining procedures
- Obtaining diagnostic-quality ultrasound images and taking initial action to address any abnormalities found
- Collaborating with radiologists, cardiologists, perinatologists, and other medical staff as required
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have completion of an extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program or certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program. You must also hold active or eligible registration with Sonography Canada and/or Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification is also required.
Salary Information
The estimated salary for this role is $40.96 - $52.83 per hour, based on a 0.70 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) and a regular part-time schedule. This figure includes a range of possible hourly rates, depending on factors such as experience and location.
