Your Opportunity:

This Diagnostic Imaging position at Foothills Medical Center is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Diagnostic Sonographer I to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Diagnostic Imaging manager/supervisor, you will support safe and efficient patient and family-centered care.

Description:

As a Diagnostic Sonographer Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality direct patient care and producing quality images using a variety of standardized and complex ultrasound services for diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing patients for examination
  • Reviewing patient history and explaining procedures
  • Obtaining high-quality ultrasound images
  • Taking initial action to resolve abnormal findings
  • Assisting with diagnosis, clinical intervention, and patient management while ensuring high levels of patient care and safety
  • Collaborating with medical staff, including Radiologists and Cardiologists, on special procedures as required

Requirements:

  • Completion of an extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program or certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program
  • Active or eligible registration with Sonography Canada and/or Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an approved Ultrasound Training Program
  • Effective use of information and communication technology
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $95,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
