Your Opportunity:

This exciting opportunity is based out of the Foothills Medical Center in a fast-paced Diagnostic Imaging Department. Reporting to the Diagnostic Imaging manager/supervisor, this position supports a safe and efficient patient and family-centered care experience.

Description:

As a highly skilled Diagnostic Sonographer I Specialist, you will perform a variety of standardized and complex ultrasound services for the diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology. Your responsibilities include preparing the patient for examination, reviewing patient history, explaining procedures, obtaining high-quality ultrasound images, and taking initial action to resolve abnormal findings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams for various medical specialties
  • Prepare patients for examinations, including preparation of equipment and materials
  • Obtain high-quality ultrasound images through skillful manipulation of equipment
  • Take initial action to resolve abnormal findings or refer to Radiologists and Cardiologists as necessary
Qualifications:

Completion of an extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program or certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program is required. Active or eligible registration with Sonography Canada and/or Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) is also necessary. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification is a must.

Salary:

An estimated salary of $83,000-$110,000 per year is expected, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The exact salary will be determined during the hiring process.
