Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator to join our growing team in Vancouver or Calgary. The ideal candidate will lead the delivery of organized estimates, budgets, and schedules, ensuring the implementation of necessary systems and procedures to manage AtkinsRéalis' risk.

The Senior Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for providing direction, management, and training to Trainee Estimators, junior Estimators, and Estimators. Key responsibilities include:

  • Tender Drawings and Specifications: Accurately interpret and comprehend tender drawings and specifications, perform and/or direct quantity take-offs from tender drawings, and provide value engineering solutions based on cost, engineering, quality, or availability of materials.

The successful candidate will contribute to the risk assessment and management process, identifying risk areas and bringing them to the attention of the risk manager. They will also formulate all tender costs, including labour, material, equipment, and procure subcontractor scope and costs for quotation submission.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant educational qualification (degree preferred)
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in Major Project estimating, including Design-Build and minimum twelve months Construction Site experience
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and documents
  • Essential skills include ability to work accurately under pressure, ability to work with others as a team, and self-motivation

Salary and Location

The estimated salary for this role is between $116,600 - $160,300 annually, depending on skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. The position is located in Vancouver or Calgary.
