At OctanePeople, we're seeking a skilled Compliance Legal Counsel to join our team. With a strong background in leading full-cycle audits and managing compliance programs, this role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment.

About the Role

This position reports directly to the Group General Counsel and involves providing training, identifying risks, and collaborating with teams to address compliance issues. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in legal studies (LLM) and at least 5-8 years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Assisting in mapping existing compliance policies and procedures to ensure a comprehensive understanding and documentation of the compliance framework.
  • Contributing to ongoing updates of compliance policies and procedures to reflect current regulations, legal standards, and organizational needs.
  • SUPPORTING DEVELOPING AND IMPLEMENTING A TESTING MATRIX OR SOLUTION FOR IDENTIFIED COMPLIANCE OBLIGATIONS, ENSURING EFFECTIVE GLOBAL MONITORING ACROSS LEGAL AND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS.

Additionally, this role involves organizing and analyzing historical data, creating internal audit conclusions and reports, and maintaining a historical audit repository. The successful candidate will also facilitate the creation of compliance reports compatible with ESP requirements and assist in preparing the annual compliance report.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you'll need:

  • A Master's degree in legal studies (LLM)
  • Minimum of 5-8 years experience leading full-cycle audits and managing compliance programs
  • RIMS CRM, GRCP, or similar certifications are assets
  • A member in good standing of the Bar Association or Law Society from any jurisdiction
