About the Role

Ford Motor Company is seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of our cloud-based platform. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building a cloud-based platform to drive the development of Ford's global Release & Update capability across millions of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver against technical vision, strategy, and KPIs for this function – time from code to deploy.
  • Develop world-class systems, including security and safety critical systems.
  • Drive data discipline and best practices through the organization.
  • Ensure projects and roadmaps are progressed appropriately.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or Software Engineering or related field of study.
  • 3+ years developing APIs using back-end technologies such as Go or Python.
  • 3+ years working with relational and/or NoSQL databases, database design, and SQL Queries.

Preferred Requirements

  • Masters degree.
  • Worked with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with embedded build.
  • CI experience with GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of security best practices in web development.
  • SaaS development experience.
  • Demonstrated time in role working in a multi-disciplined organization focused on delivering development efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills both up and down the organization to achieve the desired results.
  • Critical Thinking: Demonstrated examples of applying systemic thinking, logic, and reasoning skills to be able to identify opportunities, alternative solutions, or approaches to problems.
  • Organizational skill: Strong collaboration skills, clear and concise direction coupled with an ability to move within the organization to complete work and balance tradeoffs.
  • Experience with SBOM.
