About the Role

Wind River is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Platform Software Developer to join our team as a Member of Technical Staff. This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale projects like Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenStack, and contribute to the development of cloud infrastructure management solutions.

About the Team

Our Cloud team is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will work with experienced individuals who are passionate about building and delivering high-quality software solutions. We are a leading contributor to the Open Source StarlingX cloud native project, and we are looking for talented individuals who can help us drive innovation and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop high-quality designs and code based on Kubernetes, containerized applications, distributed cloud systems, and cloud infrastructure management.
  • Work as part of a team focused on building and maintaining Linux-based platform services that ensure high availability for Kubernetes-based applications.
  • Leverage OSTree and Linux package management for upgrade and patching with minimal service outage.
  • Develop configuration management solutions using Puppet and Ansible.
  • Contribute actively to StarlingX, an open-source project under the OpenStack Foundation – a fully featured cloud for the distributed edge.
  • Investigate and resolve issues reported during product verification and customer integration.
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development process using agile development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's / Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming experience with Python.
  • 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design of new and current systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional experience in building infrastructure software for highly scalable and distributed systems.
  • Track record of building and delivering mission-critical, 24x7 production software systems.
  • Experience in OSTree, Ansible, Puppet.
  • Proficient in C/C++, shell scripting.
  • Proficient in L2/L3 networking.
  • Contribution to the open-source community.
  • Strong sense of ownership, analytical and debugging skills.
