About the Role

This position plays a critical role in supporting the Maintenance function by preventing and repairing equipment breakdowns. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and a passion for safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs to machinery and plant support systems, focusing on hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical issues.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance (PM) schedules on machinery and Plant Support equipment.
  • Suggest preventative measures to minimize or eliminate breakdowns.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Continuous Improvements.
  • Operate laptop computers to troubleshoot and suggest changes to PLC programming.
  • Demonstrate expertise in robotics automation and programming.
  • Analyze and develop schematics.
  • Maintain correct safety standards at all times.
  • Complete check sheets and records related to P.M. programs, Work Orders, etc.
  • Be part of the Emergency Response Team.
  • Diagnose and repair basic electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic problems with equipment.
  • Modify machinery and equipment and overhaul machines as directed.
  • Install, set up, and commission new equipment.
  • Maintain awareness of the impact of their activities on quality and the environment for our customers.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • A college diploma/certificate in a relevant field is required.
  • 3-5 years of work-related experience are considered an asset.
  • A minimum Grade 12 Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D) equivalency is preferred.
  • Knowledge of PLC/HMI programming and troubleshooting, robot programming and troubleshooting, industrial networks (DeviceNet, EthernetIP), machine safety circuits and applications (ABB Jokab), VGD, DC, and Servo Drive systems, Vision Systems (Keyence, Cognex, Omron), and robotics (ABB, Motoman) are assets.
  • The ability to read and understand technical documents, schematic design specifications, and update drawings as required is essential.
  • A minimum 1 year directly related trade experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is required.
  • Familiarity with the safe handling and storage of compressed gases is necessary.

Compensation

$31.70 - $33.71 per hour.
